Betty Saybe, MS, LMFT

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

My journey to become a marriage and family therapist was uncharted territory. Initially, I attended NYU as a film student, but after 2.5 years, being the only Hispanic female in the department left me feeling out of place. I returned to school later in life to earn my bachelor’s degree in psychology. After going to therapy to process my divorce, my therapist encouraged me to pursue Marriage and Family therapy as a career because of my warm glow and good instincts.

I specialize in trauma-informed therapy so clients can feel safe and empowered in their lives. My specializations include trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues utilizing a strength-based, CBT approach.

To help couples, I utilize the Prepare/Enrich program for Premarital and Married couples. This program increases their awareness of relationship strengths and growth areas and provides skills to improve their relationship.

Most of my career has been working with the family system during the reunification process. As a result, I work with people when they have aged out of DCF, to guide them through the rest of their lives.  Additionally, I work with children who exhibited problem sexual behaviors in a family systems model.

In my spare time, I am a rocker chick who is a blossoming photographer.

Warm regards,
Betty
